Team 'Landmark vs. Lochs' bring home silver in the Great Glen Challenge.

When Landmark commits to something, it is a case of ‘go hard or go home’.  Never was this statement more true than when a team of five colleagues brought home team silver from the Great Glen Challenge – a multi-disciplinary event organised to raise funds for the Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RSABI).

On Friday 30th August 2019 the team made up of Allistair Gray, George Paterson, Kate Adams, John Macrae and Annabel James battled torrential rain and wind between Fort Augustus and Fort William in the Scottish Highlands to complete the 87km course with 26 other teams.

There was also individual success for Allistair Gray who was placed 2nd in the 46km cycle and John Macrae who was placed 2nd in the kayak event. Kate Adams was placed 4th in the 18km walk and Annabel James was placed 10th overall in the 17km run posting a personal best.

All of this effort was to raise as much money as possible for the RSABI who provide invaluable support for those who are or have been involved in Scottish agriculture when times are hard. Farming can be a tough and isolating vocation even at the best of times – in July 2019 alone, the charity worked 27 new cases which is considerably higher than usual.

The Landmark team are pleased to have raised nearly £3,500 so far, more than three times their original target with help from headline sponsors Mackie’s of Scotland.

Nina Clancy, CEO of the RSABI said “Fantastic team, great fundraisers, they will make a difference to any farming business – look them up!”.

The team’s Virgin Giving page is still open for donations and every penny really will help someone in need.
