Landmark Attends No.10

We were delighted that our MD Nigel Parsons was one of 14 individuals from rural business across the UK invited to provide feedback on the issues relating to developing business in the rural community at a meeting at 10 Downing Street recently.

The meeting was held with Niamh Mulholland the Business Engagement Manager at the Prime Minister’s office, who was encouraged to seek the views of rural UK business.

The meeting was arranged by the Rural Business Awards group founded by Jemma Clifford and Anna Price, and the feedback communicated directly to the Prime Minister.

Points discussed during a 2 hour round table discussion included communication issues, namely mobile and broadband availability, planning issues, uncertainty in the farming sector as a result of the proposed switch from farm payments to environmental schemes, difficulties for UK exporters, employment issues in remote areas, transport cuts and business rates.
