Landmark to field a team for the Great Glen Challenge 2019!

WE NEED YOU!

Landmark are excited to be fielding a team to compete in the Great Glen Challenge on Friday August 30th 2019! The event is hosted by the Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institution and now in its 8th year, has raised over £300,000 to date!

Established as a unique and exciting one day team challenge for rural businesses and organisations, teams of four people will compete against each other along designated stages between Fort Augustus and Fort William, covering a continuous 46 km route in stunning, inspiring scenery. Competitors cycle, kayak, walk and run to a prize-giving reception at Neptune’s staircase at the end of the route.

Our team is made up of members from various Landmark departments and three of whom are Scots themselves.  All have a desire to raise as much money as possible for the charity, and all seem to have a competitive streak too! They are as follows:

Completing the 46km mountain bike ride will be Allistair Gray (Sales consultant, Scotland). Allistair is known at Landmark for being a keen athlete and regularly participates in triathlons so he should be fit enough for this event.

We will have John Macrae (Sales consultant, South East) completing the 6km kayak event. Originally from Orkney, we are confident that John will do a brilliant job in the kayak!

Next we have Kate Adams (Development & testing) completing the 18km walk along Loch Lochy. Kate is based in Wales and hikes with her beautiful Vizslas around the Welsh Mountains and Scottish Hills every weekend so she is really looking forward to this event…

Annabel James (Sales consultant, East Anglia) will be completing the 17km run. Having completed the London Marathon for the RABI in 2018, she is feeling the pressure to do just as well here too!

Finally we have the linchpin of the team – George Paterson (Farmdata, Aberdeen) who will be driving the team to and from the start and finish points of the Great Glen Challenge. Having supported the RSABI for many years, he is pleased to be contributing to the team effort in a slightly less physical manner.

We are so pleased to be able to support the RSABI who do such invaluable work in supporting those in Scottish agriculture in times of need both physically and mentally. In 2018 alone, the charity paid out a total of £475,000 and the Great Glen Challenge is their biggest fundraising event of the year.

We are aiming to raise as much money for the RSABI as possible and have a fundraising target of £2,000.

We appreciate all donations, no matter how small as every penny counts. You can donate in via our Virgin Money Giving page below!
